Renew Elec Training Launches EV Charging Equipment Course (City & Guilds 2921)

At Renew Elec Training, based in Redditch, we’re proud to announce the launch of our Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation Course (2921) — designed specifically for electricians looking to futureproof their skills and meet growing demand across Redditch, Birmingham, Worcester, Solihull, Bromsgrove, and the wider West Midlands.

With the rapid shift toward electric vehicles across the UK, the demand for qualified EV charge point installers has never been higher. This course provides the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence needed to safely and compliantly install EV charging equipment in domestic and commercial settings.

Why EV Charging Training Matters Now

The UK’s transition to electric vehicles is accelerating, and with government targets and infrastructure expansion, electricians are in a prime position to diversify their services.

However, EV charger installation is not just another add-on. It requires:

  • Understanding of load management and supply characteristics

  • Knowledge of earthing systems, including PME considerations

  • Compliance with BS 7671 and relevant guidance

  • Awareness of installation risks and protective measures

Our 2921 course ensures you are not just qualified, but competent and confident on real installations.

Please be aware that the courses don’t include Monty the Goldendoodle, he is just there for cuteness!

Real Equipment, Real Install Experience

One of the key things that sets our training apart is hands-on learning.

We’ve partnered with Fast Amps, who have generously supplied EV charging units for our training centre. This allows learners to:

  • Work on real EV charging equipment

  • Understand manufacturer-specific installation requirements

  • Practice safe isolation, testing, and commissioning

  • Gain confidence before going out on site

You can learn more about the equipment and support they offer here:
