Renew Elec Training Officially Launches in Redditch

We are incredibly proud to share the success of the Renew Elec Training launch event, held at our new female-owned electrical training centre in Redditch. The day marked a huge milestone for us — not just as a business, but as a growing community of electricians, learners, manufacturers, suppliers, and supporters who believe in inclusive, high-quality electrical education.

To see our vision come to life, surrounded by so many people who have supported us along the way, was genuinely overwhelming — in the best possible way.

A Special Moment for Renew Elec Training

One of the most memorable moments of the day was welcoming the Mayor, who officially cut the ribbon and helped us celebrate the opening of our Redditch training centre. Having local civic support at our launch reinforced how important skills, education, and training are to the wider community.

As a female-owned electrical training provider, this moment carried even more meaning for us. Sam and Alex, our directors, have worked tirelessly to build a centre that challenges traditional routes into the trade and supports learners who may not have thrived in conventional college environments. Seeing the doors officially open felt like a powerful statement about what modern electrical training can look like.

Courses Now Live at Our Redditch Training Centre

Our launch event also marked the point where a wide range of City & Guilds electrical courses are now live and available to learners at Renew Elec Training.

Courses currently available:

Courses launching in the New Year:

  • Photovoltaic (Solar PV)

  • Electrical Energy Storage Systems (Battery Storage)

  • Electric Vehicle Charging

  • Safe Isolation

These courses reflect our commitment to supporting electricians at every stage — from new entrants and adult learners to experienced electricians upskilling for the future of the industry.

Incredible Industry Support on the Day

The level of industry support we received for our launch event was truly humbling. We were proud to welcome a wide range of organisations who not only attended, but actively engaged with learners and visitors throughout the day.

Helping to create a wider community where new electrician’s can come and feel supported by so many people has always been a dream of ours. Today it feels like we are a step closer to that goal

Thank You to Our Supporters

  • Wiha Tools – who are now committing to providing starter toolkits for our Level 2 learners, personally hand-picked by our director Alex. This is a huge investment in the next generation of electricians, and we cannot thank Wiha enough for their generosity and belief in what we are building.

  • Unilite – for their kind donation of merchandise used as prizes on the day. Support like this makes a real difference to learners and adds genuine value to their training experience.

  • Aico – who joined us to talk all things fire detection, compliance, and CPD, sharing valuable knowledge with both learners and qualified electricians.

  • Megger – for supporting the event and engaging with attendees around testing, fault finding, and industry best practice.

  • Testrigs UK – showcasing educational training rigs designed to support the next generation of electricians through hands-on learning.

  • City & Guilds – who attended with their Technical Advisor, taking the time to talk through our courses, standards, and qualifications with learners and visitors.

  • Greencable – with Ed on hand to talk to electricians about recycling electrical cable and supporting more sustainable practices across the trade.

  • YESSS Electrical (local branch) – who have supported us from day one, allowed us to make mistakes, ask awkward questions, and always met us with a positive, supportive attitude. We are incredibly grateful for their continued backing.

  • Tradefresh UK – for bringing their trade-specific air fresheners, designed specifically for electricians and trade professionals.

Celebrating with Our Learners and Community

One of the most important parts of the day for us was having past and present learners in attendance. Many were on hand to talk openly about their experiences training with Renew Elec Training and how our learner-led approach has supported them.

Hearing their stories — and seeing new learners connect with them — reinforced why we do what we do. Training is not just about qualifications; it’s about confidence, understanding, and community.

We were also very well fed on the day, thanks to Cerrone’s, the same local café who provide our learners’ lunches. The cake and buffet were fantastic, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued support of our centre.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Renew Elec Training

The support we felt at our launch event has left us feeling inspired, motivated, and incredibly thankful. We genuinely feel overwhelmed by how many people showed up to support us — locally and nationally.

Because of that, we are already planning to recreate this event in the Summer, with:

  • A BBQ

  • Even more industry guests

  • More opportunities to enter prize draws and win

  • Continued chances for learners and electricians to connect directly with manufacturers and suppliers

Building Community — Online and In Person

Sam and Alex are immensely proud of how far Renew Elec Training has come. What started as an online learning community through social media has now grown into a physical training centre — supported by industry leaders, suppliers, and most importantly, learners.

We now feel we are truly creating community in two spaces:

  • Online, through free, accessible, learner-led educational content

  • In person, through our Redditch training centre and events like this

To everyone who attended, supported, donated, spoke, listened, shared, and celebrated with us — thank you. Your support means more than we can put into words.

We can’t wait to show you what’s next.
