New To The Industry?
Don’t know where to start?
At Renew Elec Training we understand that the amount of courses available and the route to becoming a fully qualified electrician can seem overwhelming. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience but no formal qualifications, we’re here to help.
Any information below can be verified through TESP (The Electrotechnical Skills Partnership), an independent non-profit that works with Employers and the Awarding Bodies to develop industry approved qualifications. You can view their outline of the route presented below here
Level 2 Diploma
Our Level 2 Diploma takes someone with little or no electrical experience and gives them the core theory, practical installation skills and industry knowledge needed to start progressing towards becoming an electrician.
Level 3 Diploma
Our Level 3 Diploma builds on the Level 2 foundation and develops the learner's understanding of electrical science, design, inspection and testing, commissioning and fault finding, preparing them to progress onto the NVQ and towards becoming a fully qualified electrician.
NVQ Level 3
IMPORTANT: If you want to progress and train at this level and further you’ll need to be working in the industry in order to become a qualified electrician.
Our NVQ Level 3 is aimed at adult learners. This adult pathway of the qualification uses a portfolio of evidence alongside other assessment methods. The performance units allow an adult learner to prove, through workplace evidence, that they can safely plan, install, inspect, test, commission and fault-find electrical installations to the required industry standard.
AM2 - Assessment of Competence
The AM2 is the final practical assessment where the learner brings everything together and demonstrates that they can safely and competently perform the work expected of a qualified electrician. The AM2, delivered by National Electrotechnical Training (NET), is an independent practical assessment used to demonstrate that a candidate has the occupational competence required of an electrician
Renew Elec Training does not currently provide an in house AM2 qualification, however we thoroughly recommend our partners at {partner name} and their offering

Once you have completed this route you are a fully qualified electrician, your educational journey could end here.
