Meet The Team

With nearly three decades of experience in the electrical industry, I’ve built a career rooted in resilience, passion, and a commitment to raising standards in training and education.

I began my journey in 1996 as an apprentice and earned my ECS Gold Card as an Approved Electrician in 2000. As a woman working on building sites, I faced the usual challenges—but I’ve always met them head-on. My career has taken me through a wide range of roles, including estimator, operations manager, sole trader, and apprenticeship manager.

In 2008, I discovered a new passion: teaching. Working with self-funded adult learners at a private training provider sparked a deep commitment to sharing my knowledge and experience. Over the past 15 years, I’ve combined hands-on electrical work with roles in assessing, internal quality assurance (IQA), and teaching. In 2019, I completed my Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET), returning to private training after a period in further education.

At the end of 2022, I made a bold move—leaving my role as Apprenticeship Operations Manager to start a new chapter. That chapter is Renew Elec Training, where I now serve as Director alongside my business partner, Alex Tranter. Together, we work with a variety of training providers, offering high-quality, contract-based services that aim to elevate the standard of delivery across the sector.

At Renew Elec Training, our mission is simple: to empower learners and educators alike by delivering training that’s practical, inclusive, and built on real-world experience

I’ve always believed that learning should feel achievable, enjoyable, and relevant to the real world. For me, teaching isn’t just about helping someone pass an exam — it’s about giving people the confidence to believe in themselves, especially those who may have written themselves off too young or never enjoyed traditional education.

With over 10 years’ experience teaching in the electrical industry, I take pride in creating a relaxed, supportive learning environment where every question is welcome and every learner matters. I bring my years of on-site experience into the classroom, linking the regulations to the real-life situations electricians face every day.

Through our social media channels, we’ve been able to reach thousands of learners from all walks of life, and the positive feedback we’ve received means the world to me. That encouragement pushed me to finally convince Sam that we should start our own training centre — and here we are, looking to the future with excitement and determination to keep raising the bar for electrical training.

My career has given me the opportunity to work across construction, education, and business development, allowing me to combine commercial expertise with a genuine passion for supporting people and helping organisations grow.

I began my professional journey in the construction industry, training and working as a Quantity Surveyor for over ten years. This provided me with a strong foundation in commercial management, project delivery, and building relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.

Over the past six years, I've had the privilege of mentoring electrical apprentices within a college environment, helping learners develop the skills, confidence, and industry knowledge needed to build successful careers. Supporting others to achieve their potential is something I find incredibly rewarding and remains a key part of who I am professionally.

Today, as a Business Development Manager, I enjoy connecting people, businesses, and opportunities. Whether I'm building partnerships, developing new opportunities, or supporting workforce development, I'm passionate about creating positive outcomes and making a meaningful difference. I am known for being approachable, proactive, and committed to helping both individuals and organisations succeed.

With 10 years of administrative experience and 12 years of football academy coaching experience, I have developed strong organisational, communication and leadership skills, which I bring to everything I do. I enjoy keeping things organised, supporting others and finding ways to make day-to-day tasks run smoothly.

Although I’m relatively new to the electrical industry, I’m excited to learn, grow and build my knowledge of the sector. I’m naturally organised, have a keen eye for detail and a real passion for spreadsheets, data and keeping everything in order!

My experience in both administration and coaching has taught me the importance of teamwork, clear communication and building positive relationships. I enjoy working with people, taking on new challenges and being someone others can rely on.

I’m looking forward to continuing to develop my skills within the electrical industry, supporting the team and making a positive contribution wherever I can.

You may encounter me around the centre in a number of different capacities. Most often as an exam invigilator, but also solving IT problems and providing technical support

My career in IT spans more than 20 years, beginning in UNIX configuration management and system administration before moving into software testing, quality assurance, and consultancy. Over that time, I've worked across a diverse range of sectors including public services, national infrastructure, construction, and gaming, helping organisations deliver complex change programmes with confidence.

From performance testing and system integration to leading QA teams and shaping testing strategy, I've always been passionate about improving quality and finding practical solutions to challenging problems.
