Renew Elec Training Are Proud to Become INclusive Worcestershire Leaders

Building a More Open and Diverse Future for the Electrical Industry

We are incredibly proud to share that Renew Elec Training has been recognised as an INclusive Worcestershire Leader.

For us—Sam and Alex—this recognition means far more than an award. It reflects something deeply important to us: creating an industry where more people feel they truly belong.

If you’d like to learn more about the initiative, you can explore the INclusive Worcestershire programme here:

A Personal Commitment to Inclusion

As a female-led training centre, Renew Elec Training was built on the belief that the electrical industry can—and should—be accessible to a much wider range of people.

Too often, we meet individuals who have the ability, the drive, and the potential to become skilled electricians, but who have never felt the industry was “for them”.

That’s exactly what we want to change.

Becoming an INclusive Worcestershire Leader is a powerful step in reinforcing that commitment. It’s about making sure people don’t just see opportunities—but feel confident stepping into them.

Inclusion That Creates Opportunity

Our status as an INclusive Worcestershire Leader sits naturally alongside our commitment as a Disability Confident Employer.

For us, inclusion isn’t a separate initiative—it’s part of how we operate every day.

We actively work to:

  • Create supportive and adaptable learning environments

  • Welcome individuals from non-traditional or underrepresented backgrounds

  • Encourage those who may lack confidence to take that first step

  • Help employers think differently about who they bring into their workforce

We firmly believe that a wider talent pool leads to a stronger industry.

Bringing Fresh Talent Into the Trade

The electrical industry needs new skills, new perspectives, and new energy.

There are so many people—from different work backgrounds, life experiences, and communities—who could thrive in this sector if given the right support and encouragement.

By opening the door wider and actively bringing more people in, we can:

  • Address skills shortages

  • Build more resilient businesses

  • Create a more inclusive and forward-thinking industry

As a female-run training provider, we’re particularly passionate about showing that this is a career path open to everyone—not just those who traditionally see themselves represented.

A Call to Action for Employers

If you are an employer or business owner, we would strongly encourage you to take your own steps towards becoming more inclusive.

A great place to start is the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme, which provides practical guidance and a clear framework for improving accessibility and inclusion:

You don’t need to have all the answers straight away. What matters is a willingness to:

  • Reflect on your current practices

  • Make meaningful improvements

  • Open opportunities to a broader range of people

Programmes like Disability Confident and INclusive Worcestershire show that positive change is achievable—and that it benefits everyone.

Looking Ahead

Being recognised as INclusive Worcestershire Leaders is something we are incredibly proud of—but it’s only the beginning.

We will continue to:

  • Break down barriers into electrical training

  • Support individuals who may not have considered this career path before

  • Champion diversity and inclusion within the industry

  • Encourage more employers to think differently about talent

Most importantly, we want to help shape an industry where anyone with the willingness to learn and the drive to succeed feels that they have a place.
