Learn, develop and practise the skills required to test portable electrical appliances with the Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. If you already work as an electrician it will add another string to your bow and can help you move up in the industry.
These qualifications are aimed at those with administrative responsibilities for the maintenance of electrical equipment and for those undertaking practical inspection and testing of electrical equipment. It also allows those with an administrative responsibility for the testing and inspection of electrical equipment to gain a qualification suitable to their job role.

This qualification ensures that you are up-to-date with the latest industry regulations on wiring and the safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems. It covers the 18th edition of the IET Wiring Regulations, which came into force in June 2018. These regulations are recognised by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard (BS7671).
If you're a practising electrician, you must comply with the regulations for electrical work; this qualification is designed to provide those seeking progression in their career with the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to carry out job roles and responsibilities associated with the Electrotechnical industry.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?
This qualification delivers the specialist knowledge and skills you need, including appropriate legislation, inspection and testing techniques, completing and issuing certificates or reports and understanding of results and measurements.
2391-52 Combined Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection and Testing: Intended for experienced electricians who have never gained formal qualifications in inspection and testing or who may wish to update and reaffirm their skills.
Assessment will be through a multiple-choice on-line test and a practical task.
What Careers Can This Lead To?
This qualification is intended for practising electricians who want to expand their skills and knowledge in the area of Initial Verification and/or Periodic Inspection and continue their professional development.
On successful completion learners can also progress on to the City & Guilds Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations.
Pre-requisites
This qualification is aimed at electricians working within domestic and/or non-domestic premises and they shall hold as a minimum;
A Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671 (current edition)
andA good understanding of how to Inspect & Test Electrical Installations. This is an assessment course only, with very minimal teaching input.
If you do not have a good understanding of how to Inspect & Test Electrical Installations, we recommend you also undertake a Fundamentals of Inspection & Testing Course beforehand.
